I’d like to live in the kind of world where [...]

I am priviledged to live within a couple of minutes walk of the beach. When I just need space to try and work out what is going on and need to try and work out what on earth I can do next in difficult situations I can just go and walk.

As mentioned a couple of days ago I have a new haircut, and apparently it is a rather good cut which suits me. I know this because I have been (i) asked for details of my hairdresser in a serious way and (ii) I have been complemented by people who have then discussed the effects [...]

So today’s book was a bit of light relief, Queen Mum by Kate Long. It’s not as good as Bad Mother’s Handbook but still a reasonable bit of throwaway chick lit. It’s the sort of book which contains well written humour but with a dark undercurrent.
