Break from the snapshots

Taking a break from the snapshots to celebrate my b’day.

Heartbeats and Clashes (snapshot four)

Our journey now reaches the mid 90’s and moves location. The uncomfortable struggles of the previous entries are a thing of the past and a new dual identity is being forged, as wife and student.I have finally achieved the synthesis of roles and a balance between the “non-gendered” path to a career and the fully [...]

The Strange One (snapshot 3)

This snapshot is somewhat blurred, much of the detail obscured and it has been taken from a distance. The distance gives a detatched view which enables us to continue our struggle to understand some of the challenges which have faced young women,in the past and to try and pin point what role some version of [...]

Culture Clash (snapshot 2)

Having been put on the path described in the last entry I was unprepared when I found out that the road might not be as smooth as first thought.
In the late 1980’s I was in 6th form and quickly realising that I wasn’t about to get the required grades. Now to this “non-gendered” person it [...]

Bit of an exploration (snapshot 1)

The snapshots I am going to give in this mini-series kind of relate back to what I was on about here .
This is a story which is specific to it’s time, starting in the mid- 1980’s:
I was 13 or 14 and ready to take my options at school. At that time I didn’t realise [...]

This years campaign is………….

This morning I recieved my <a href= “http://www.bmsworldmission.org//standard.asp?id=17710&cachefixer=cf75814193559208
” target= “_blank” >BMS update and found out that the latest, fast growing coalition campaign is Stop Climate Chaos .
Seems like (yet another) worthy cause to support, which ties into the interconnected issues around the economic, environmental and social choices we make meaning life or death for [...]

Comments

Thanks for the flood of comments (well it seemed like it) that have gone on over the last 24 hours & greeted me when I got in tonight. Seriously, it was nice to know that there were people about.

One of a set

Any of you who have clicked on the link on the main page of the website or through Dave’s Cartoon Church site will know about a current tounge in cheek online petition – Christian Quiche .
I wonder if this campaign got significant support whether we would be able to extend it to a campaign to [...]

Not sure I like the logic

This BBC article on student debt is a bit worrying to me. It says that students are becoming accustomed to debt and the government blokey quoted seems quite happy that the idea of debt is not worrying potential students anymore.
Whilst I welcome the fact that potential students aren’t being put off I am worried [...]

A-Z of prayer

Note: this is not intended to be definitive, but I hope it’s useful.
A – Answers always come, but often not when or how we want.
B- Be yourself. God knows us inside out anyway, so there’s not point being someone else when we pray.
C- Corporate prayer is an undervalued part of many churches.
D- Drawing closer to [...]
